They try their best to implement feedback as soon as possible. One of the main reasons I love Rocketship is because I truly believe that the management valued our opinions. Our goal was to close the achievement gaps in our respected communities by providing rigorous work and partnering with families. Rocketship Public Schools is a goal oriented school. But, with boundaries, you can thrive here. You really need to have boundaries (internally and externally) to survive in this line of work. Little work-life balance, especially for salaried employees. Often expected to do tasks far outside of your contract with little appreciation or fair compensation to show for it Paraprofessionals aren't paid fairly and often exploited by admin to do whatever extra work needs to be done around campus, and don't have adequate training and support, resulting in high turnover Admin means well but sometimes we see racial bias in the classroom The student population of Rocketship Futuro. Integrated special ed model works for many things, but may be over-emphasized to the point of being ableist and not best serving our population Rocketship Futuro Academy is a charter school located in Concord, CA, which is in a large suburb setting. You build highly rewarding relationships with them, and seeing them grow is the fulfillment that keeps me coming back. School with coach you into shape for being a very skilled teacher in a challenging setting Tremendous opportunities for learning and growth
